our story

"In 1982, my father came to Detroit from the Middle East to pursue a career in engineering. After discovering food was his passion, he left his job as a civil engineer to become a restaurateur. He began working in diners and cafes as a chef until he was able to open his own restaurant in 1993, Harmonie Garden Cafe.  Over the course of 15 years, he perfected recipes for Middle Eastern cuisine while adding an American flair.  Falafel became a passion and he began distributing his famous product to other restaurants and local grocery stores. After my father's passing in 2018, I decided to open Wonder Falafel using his recipe to further his efforts of bringing delicious falafel to the people."
